Tulip for Spring!

Have you been to the Humane Society Lately? I used to think it was a great place to take a date. Watching how a man relates to orphaned animals can tell you a lot about his character.

But anyway...now I think it's a great place to find a running partner! What kind of running partner do you have? Is there room for another? Or are you the runner that has been taking the Winter off and you're now just thinking about getting out there again- but...you don't want to go it alone?

Take Tulip! Tulip is a sweet pup that is waiting patiently at the Humane Society for a home of her own. Tulip is a runner. She is chock-full of wonderful happy loving energy that she really, really, really wants to share with you! Go check her out. She's waiting to go for a run with you! I mean - LOOK at that face! How can you resist?

Happy Running, I hope to see you at Helvetia in a few short weeks!

How to be Smarter, Happier, Healthier and Sexier

Well Hi There!

Generally I'm writing about dogs in this blog, or more specifically- running with them.
Today I'd just like to take a little time to examine some points about running - without dogs!

Ahh...the luxury. Having all of your attention to yourself, letting your arms just swing - back and forth, back and forth, naturally and easily without being tugged because there's a squirrel! Or a cat! Or a leaf! Blowing in the wind! Ah!

Ahh...just a nice, lazy, relaxing run. Maybe pondering points of metaphysical realism, or deciding if you'd rather have tacos or burgers for dinner? (Tacos.)
Taking the time - having the luxury of scanning your body, feeling every joint and muscle in smooth seamless motion...going as far, as fast and in which ever direction your feet take you...

Running with or without a dog at least a few times a week will aid you in reaching your goal of becoming smarter, happier, healthier and sexier! That is your goal, right?

I know it's true, because I read it in this article over at the Fitness Depot.
And I happen to have some first hand experience as well.

Portland Dog Runner chats with Crave Portland

Take a few minutes to read this short and sweet interview Portland Dog Runner gave with Crave Portland, as the "Entrepreness of the Week"!

And when you've finished reading, jump on over to my Doggie Dash home page and sign up to run or walk with us!

Guess what!? It's It's Doggie Dash Time!

Yes, it's true!

I recently accepted the challenge to raise funds to support the 23rd Annual Doggie Dash on behalf of the Oregon Humane Society. The Doggie Dash takes place May 15th at Waterfront Park, but I'm trying to help OHS long before then.

They need our help to find homes for 10,000 abandoned and abused animals in 2010. I'm participating in the Dash because caring for animals is so VERY IMPORTANT! I hope you feel the same way -I think you do!

I'm asking you to JOIN THE TEAM, to walk or run! OR...if you'd rather this were a spectator sport...MAKE A DONATION in my name to help this good cause.

But that's not all...in the spirit of MORE FUN than last year, (I know, I know, you didn't believe it could happen, huh?) I'm running with WONDER PUPPY this year! Woo-Hoo!

Whatever you can give will help - it all adds up and will go a long way toward the care, feeding and shelter of thousands of animals in need.

Thank you so much, we can't wait to see you there!

P.S. You just might get a free PDR t-shirt if you come out to run or walk with us! Sign up and then email me your size. ;)
